6 RazorpayX Payroll Alternatives I’d Shortlist in 2026

This image shows a comparison of RazorpayX and other HR and payroll software, highlighting payroll dashboards, salary processing and employee management features.

RazorpayX Payroll is built for paying salaries and filing tax. Attendance reaches it from its own module or from HR and attendance partners, so a business with a gate device has one more connection to check.

If you would rather have the device and payroll in one place, Attendo (formerly Petpooja Payroll) is the RazorpayX Payroll alternative I’d shortlist first. It gives any Indian business attendance, payroll and the device in one system, with no per-employee pricing as it grows.

Attendo is a complete workforce management system for every kind of business. I sorted Zoho Payroll, Saral PayPack, Quikchex, PagarBook and Kredily by where attendance starts, then checked statutory payroll, pricing and fit.

Key Takeaways

  • Attendo leads this list of six, because attendance starts at its own device and flows straight into payroll.
  • Attendance is the real split, because pay depends on days present, leave and overtime.
  • Some tools ship a machine and some do not, so a factory gate and a startup office need different answers.
  • Per-employee charges add up as you hire, so price next year’s team, not today’s.

Why Look for RazorpayX Alternatives?

The RazorpayX Payroll pages point to the main reasons to look further. Its plans are set out further down.

  • The bill grows with headcount. PRIME covers up to 20 employees, and each extra employee adds a monthly charge, with GST on top.
  • How attendance gets in. It computes attendance into the salary cycle from its own module, or from HR systems and time and attendance partners it syncs with. A business with a gate device will want to check how that device connects.

If your attendance already lives in an HR system it connects to, it may suit you well.

RazorpayX Payroll Alternatives Compared

Every tool that follows is marked with how attendance reaches its payroll. There are three routes, and RazorpayX Payroll itself works through routes 2 and 3:

  1. A device from the same vendor. Punches flow from the gate to the payslip with one vendor from start to end.
  2. Attendance inside the same product. Leave and attendance are managed where the pay run happens.
  3. A partner app or HR system. Attendance comes from another tool and connects to payroll.

I judged every tool below on attendance route, statutory payroll, pricing and who it suits. Facts come from each vendor’s own website, checked in October 2026; ratings come from G2 or Google Play. Each tool gets an honest list of pros and cons.

1. Attendo

Attendo is the one I would shortlist first when any Indian business has staff punching in at a gate. It starts at the attendance device and runs through to payroll and statutory compliance.

Attendo homepage, showing the attendance device, dashboard and Employee App.
Attendo’s homepage. Source: attendohr.com
  • Attendance: routes 1 and 2. Every package includes a Biometric, Biometric Pro or Face Scanner device, installed on site with a 1-year warranty, plus mobile punch in the Employee App.
  • Statutory payroll: PF, ESI, PT, TDS and Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), with the Bank Transfer Report as the salary file for your bank.
  • Pricing: one flat yearly software fee and no per-employee charges. Our guide to flat fee vs per-employee billing compares the two.
  • Best for: growing startups, factories, clinics and stores that want attendance and payroll from one company.
Attendo Employee app on Google Play: 4.3 out of 5 from 3.95K reviews and 10 lakh+ downloads, with the star breakdown.

Pros

  • No per-employee charges: one flat yearly fee, whatever your headcount.
  • An attendance device in every package, installed on site with a 1-year warranty.
  • Device, software and support from one company.
  • Punches can start the same day the device is installed.
  • Support 24×7×365, including salary-processing days.
  • Employee App in 11 Indian languages.

Cons

  • A relatively new brand name, though Attendo is built by Petpooja, whose products 1,50,000+ businesses use and which has served Indian businesses since 2011.

My take: If attendance starts at a device on site, this is the one I would start with, because the device and payroll come from one company.

2. Zoho Payroll

Zoho Payroll is a payroll-first tool like RazorpayX Payroll, with a free plan for small teams.

Zoho Payroll homepage headline, Payroll made easy and scalable with built-in AI.

  • Pricing: the Zoho Payroll pricing page lists a free plan for up to 10 employees. Standard is ₹1,000 a month per organisation, billed annually, for 25 employees, then ₹40 per extra employee, with GST extra.
  • Statutory payroll: covers Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), ESI, PT, LWF and TDS.
  • Attendance: Route 2: built-in leave and attendance on its Premium plan.
  • Best for: payroll-first teams, especially those on other Zoho apps.
Zoho Payroll on G2: 4.5 out of 5 from 20 reviews, with the pros and cons users mention most.
Zoho Payroll’s review summary on G2, October 2026. Source: g2.com

Pros

  • A free plan for up to 10 employees, with EPF, ESI, PT, LWF and TDS.
  • Works with the rest of the Zoho suite.
  • Monthly or annual billing, cheaper annually.

Cons

  • Built-in leave and attendance only on the Premium plan.
  • The free plan stops at 10 employees.
  • An extra charge for each employee above the number a plan includes.

My take: Zoho Payroll is the closest like-for-like swap, since both put payroll first, and it has a free plan for up to 10 employees. If you need attendance too, I would price the Premium plan.

3. Saral PayPack

Saral PayPack is desktop payroll software from Relyon Softech, built around Indian statutory compliance.

Saral PayPack page headline, Payroll Software for Indian Businesses, Desktop or Cloud.

  • Pricing: the Saral PayPack pricing page lists PayPack Standard at ₹53,700 for a single user and Corporate at ₹1,15,800, plus 18% GST.
  • Statutory payroll: PF ECR, ESI, state-wise PT, LWF, TDS, Form 24Q and Form 16.
  • Attendance: Route 2: biometric integration, with shifts, overtime and leave rules feeding payroll.
  • Best for: finance teams that prefer payroll on their own computers.
Saral PayPack on G2: 3.9 out of 5 from 4 reviews, with the pros and cons users mention most.
Saral PayPack’s review summary on G2, October 2026. Source: g2.com

Pros

  • Deep statutory payroll, including Form 24Q.
  • Runs on your own computers, desktop or on-premise.
  • Several companies in one install.

Cons

  • Desktop software, with no mobile app mentioned for PayPack.
  • PF and ESI portal upload is sold separately as Saral ePFESI.
  • Its site describes the price as both yearly and one-time, so confirm which applies.

My take: Saral PayPack suits a finance team that wants payroll on its own machines rather than in the cloud. I would confirm whether the licence is yearly or one-time before comparing.

4. Quikchex

Quikchex pairs payroll software with an optional service where Quikchex runs payroll for you.

  • Pricing: the Quikchex pricing page lists Self Service plans from ₹4,500 a month plus ₹45 per employee, and Full Service plans, where Quikchex also runs payroll, from ₹7,500 plus ₹75.
  • Statutory payroll: TDS, PF, ESIC and gratuity deductions, Form 16 and bank files. On Full Service, Quikchex files the returns.
  • Attendance: Route 2: an app with GPS, geo-fencing and selfie, a web clock, and biometric sync from the Growth plan.
  • Best for: teams that want someone else to run payroll.
Quikchex on G2: 4.0 out of 5 from 9 reviews, with the pros and cons users mention most.
Quikchex’s review summary on G2, October 2026. Source: g2.com

Pros

  • An option to outsource payroll and filings.
  • Works with existing biometric, card and face devices.
  • Labour compliance services, such as Shops and Establishments.

Cons

  • On Self Service, you file the returns yourself.
  • Biometric sync starts on Growth, and selfie attendance on Enterprise.
  • Each employee adds a charge.

My take: If the real reason to leave RazorpayX Payroll is the work of running payroll, Quikchex’s Full Service plans take that off your hands. I would price both service levels.

5. PagarBook

PagarBook is built for gate attendance plus field teams, with its own device and a field tracking product. Its homepage lists the iD 8 device at ₹18,000 plus GST as a one-time fee.

  • Hardware: sells its own face and fingerprint device, the iD 8, with a 1-year warranty.
  • Pricing: signing up is free; software plan prices are not published.
  • Statutory payroll: lists PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS and Form 16.
  • Attendance: Routes 1 and 2: its own device at the gate, plus selfie and GPS on phones.
  • Best for: businesses that want a gate device and field tracking from one company.
PagarBook app on Google Play: 4.4 out of 5 from 91.9K reviews and 1 crore+ downloads, with the star breakdown, the review Google lists first and PagarBook's reply.

Pros

  • Its own face and fingerprint device, paid once with no monthly rental.
  • PagarBook Geo for live field tracking.

Cons

  • Software plan prices are not published.
  • The device is an extra one-time cost of ₹18,000 plus GST.
  • No price is shown for its iD 5 device.
  • Its site does not say whether other brands’ biometric devices work with it.

My take: PagarBook brings the device and payroll from one company, as Attendo does. I would get its software price in writing, since only the device price is published.

6. Kredily

Kredily is a low-cost payroll option with a free plan, and paid plans that add challans and Form 16.

  • Pricing: the Kredily pricing page lists a Free Forever plan at ₹0 for unlimited employees, subject to an active usage policy, with PF, ESI, PT and TDS calculation. Paid plans start at ₹1,249 a month for up to 25 employees.
  • Attendance: Route 2: web clock-in, and its KredSync tool syncs existing fingerprint or card devices.
  • Best for: small teams that want to start payroll for free.
Kredily on G2: 4.3 out of 5 from 63 reviews, with the pros and cons users mention most.
Kredily’s review summary on G2, October 2026. Source: g2.com

Pros

  • A free plan with PF, ESI, PT and TDS calculation.
  • Syncs fingerprint and card devices you already own.
  • Low entry price on the paid plans.

Cons

  • The free plan allows one attendance rule and one salary structure.
  • Selfie and GPS attendance need its higher paid plan.
  • Challans and Form 16 need a paid plan.

My take: Kredily is one of the cheapest ways off RazorpayX Payroll, but challans and Form 16 need a paid plan. If you file every month, I would start on Payroll OS.

Attendo is a complete workforce management system for every kind of business, running attendance, shifts, leaves, payroll and statutory filings in one place. Attendo has more than 40,000 users today. It is Software By Petpooja, building helpful products for Indian businesses since 2011.

RazorpayX Payroll Pricing and Features

The RazorpayX Payroll pricing page lists three plans:

  1. PRIME: ₹3,499 a month for up to 20 employees.
  2. ELITE: for up to 100 employees.
  3. ENTERPRISE: for 100+ employees, priced on quote.

Extra employees on PRIME and ELITE cost ₹150 each a month, and 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is added on top.

The RazorpayX Payroll homepage says it files and pays Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT) and Employees’ State Insurance (ESI). It says attendance is “automatically computed into the salary cycle”, and that it syncs with human resources (HR) systems and time and attendance partners.

In Simple Words
RazorpayX Payroll pays salaries and handles tax. Other apps do this too. Some come with a punch machine. Pick the one that fits how your staff mark attendance.

How Attendance Reaches Payroll

Pay depends on attendance: days present, leave, overtime and late marks. The three routes in the comparison above decide how that data reaches payroll.

DEVICE 1 A device from the same vendor Attendo includes one in every package. IN-PRODUCT 2 Attendance inside the same product Managed where the pay run happens. PARTNER 3 A partner app or HR system Attendance comes from another tool. Fewer hand-offs, fewer systems to set up. Routes as defined in this guide.
The route from punch to payslip is the main difference between these tools.

Factories make up the biggest group of businesses on Attendo, and shift-based sites like theirs are where route 1 matters most.

A 20-person startup in Bengaluru that works on laptops can manage with route 2 or 3. A packaging unit near Chennai with 200 staff on two shifts usually needs route 1.

Fewer hand-offs mean fewer systems to set up. Our guide to the attendance to salary workflow shows route 1 in detail.

Whichever route you choose, wages must still be paid within the time the Code on Wages sets, so the new tool has to be ready before the next pay date.

When to Choose Attendo Over RazorpayX

I’d go with Attendo in these cases.

Choose Attendo if you:

  • Plan to hire fast: every branch can add its own device, each covering up to 750 employees (3,000 on the Face Scanner), and the software has no headcount limit.
  • Want a cost that does not rise with each new hire.
  • Want one company for the device, the software and the support, so a missing punch has one owner.
  • Need answers at any hour, 24×7×365, even on salary day.
  • Want a known name behind it: Attendo is built by Petpooja, which has a team of 1,800+.

Pro Tip
I’d suggest checking how each tool hands salaries to your bank before you pick it. Ask which banks its transfer file supports, and test one file with your bank.

If most of your team works shifts on site, the deciding factor is usually how attendance reaches payroll.

Where Attendo Fits

Attendo takes the punch at the device and carries it to the payslip.

Punches from the Biometric, Biometric Pro or Face Scanner device sync in under 2 seconds. Payroll then applies PF, ESI, PT, TDS and LWF. PF rules sit on the EPFO website and ESI rules on the ESIC website.

The Bank Transfer Report prepares the salary file, and employees see payslips in the Employee App, in 11 Indian languages.

To check whether route 1 fits your business, see how it works on attendohr.com.

The Best RazorpayX Payroll Alternatives

The best RazorpayX Payroll alternative for a growing Indian business is Attendo, above all where attendance starts at a device on site.

One device covers up to 750 employees, with no software-side limit on headcount, punches reach the dashboard in under 2 seconds, and the Bank Transfer Report prepares the salary file.

Check how each shortlisted tool gets attendance into payroll before you sign. To see attendance, payroll and the device from one company, explore Attendo.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Attendo a good RazorpayX Payroll alternative?
Yes, for any Indian business where attendance starts at a device on site. Attendo includes the device, carries each punch into payroll and prepares the salary file through its Bank Transfer Report.
2. How much does RazorpayX Payroll cost?
Its pricing page lists PRIME at ₹3,499 a month for up to 20 employees, ₹150 per extra employee a month, and 18% GST on top. ENTERPRISE is priced on quote.
3. Can I keep my existing biometric machine if I switch?
Often, yes. Kredily, Quikchex and Saral PayPack say they work with existing devices. Attendo can work with some other brands case by case, so confirm your model first. If you would rather replace the machine, Attendo and PagarBook both supply their own; see our PagarBook comparison.
4. How quickly can I start on a new tool?
With Attendo, attendance can start on installation day, and payroll rules follow alongside. Other vendors publish their own setup steps.
5. Do these tools handle PF, ESI, PT and TDS?
All six list PF, ESI and TDS on their own websites, and most also list PT. Check how each one handles your state’s PT before you switch.
6. How do I move payroll to a new tool mid-year?
Carry over each employee’s year-to-date salary and tax deducted so TDS stays correct. Then run one month in both tools and compare the payslips before you switch off the old one.
